1 Main Market Square, Krakow (Poland)

The Rynek Glowny Krakow was miraculously preserved from the damage caused by the Second World War. This treasure of medieval architecture is at the heart of the former royal capital of Poland. Dominating the Rynek Glowny, the Cloth Hall, built in the sixteenth century to accommodate the cloth market now houses craft shops and souvenirs.  2 St. Mark's Square, Venice (Italy)

How to resist the romantic charms of Venice? At the heart of the city, Piazza San Marco embodies the splendor of its past. The square is now constantly crowded with tourists (and pigeons), hence the exorbitant rates charged by cafés. But there stands the Basilica San Marco, one of the architectural treasures of Venice, with a remarkable blend of styles combining arrows, Byzantine domes, marble and mosaics.  3 Jemaa El-Fna, Marrakech (MOROCCO)
 
In 2001, UNESCO declared the Djemaa el-Fna square masterpiece of world heritage, including its ability to relive every night the oral tradition of Morocco and legends of the city. This historic crossroads, the nerve center of Marrakech, offers a spectacle permanent open. Snake charmers, henna tattooists and water vendors alongside a motley crowd of visitors who sip a freshly squeezed orange juice or allow themselves driven by the bluesy rhythms of Gnawa musicians.  4 Place Stanislas, Nancy (France)

5 Plaza Mayor, Salamanca (Spain)

Considered the most beautiful square in Spain, Plaza Mayor is lined with arcades surmounted by three-storey buildings. It was built in the mid eighteenth century in a very harmonious baroque style. In the harsh light of the midday sun or at night, the place has a unique atmosphere. Take time to enjoy by yourself on the terrace of one of the many cafes.
